About The CSA...

Many of you are familiar with the concept of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). This model has done a tremendous job of connecting consumers with farms. Basically, people purchase "shares" in a farm's harvest. For the price of a share, members receive weekly distributions of farm fresh vegetables and fruits. Usually, the membership fees are due in the spring time. This provides the farm with much needed spring cash flow. Members are investing in the farm's season...it's a win-win situation for both the farmer and the members.

We are hoping to establish a CSA program for the 2009 season and will be posting information on how to join here on the webpage. Kale or Borecole is a form of cabbage, green in color, in which the central leaves do not form a head. Kale is the most robust cabbage type - indeed the hardiness of kale is unmatched by any other vegetable. Kale will also tolerate nearly all soils provided that drainage is satisfactory. Another advantage is that kale rarely suffers from pests and diseases of other members of the cabbage family. Kale is considered to be a highly nutritious vegetable with powerful antioxidant properties and is anti-inflammatory.
